Carelyn Velazquez

Carelyn brings years of experience in medical office management and patient care to our Fort Myers office.

Her enthusiasm for patient care helps her provide patients with the most comfortable and confident experience before and after their surgical procedure. Carelyn guides patients through appointment scheduling, insurance authorization, scheduling of tests and procedures, and follow-up scheduling.

Carelyn is a long time resident of Fort Myers and is fluent in English and Spanish.

Rachel Gonzalez

Rachel joined GI Surgical Specialists in 2016. She works alongside Carelyn day in and day out to help guide patients through the process of surgery. She is the first smiling face that patients see when they come in for an office visit. Rachel is a native of Southwest Florida and calls Lehigh Acres home.

Michelle Smith

Michelle moved to Florida in 2023 but has worked in the bariatric and general surgery speciality 7 years prior. Her past experiences range from triaging patients to obtaining authorizations and scheduling surgeries. She will help guide patients through their surgical process from beginning to end. Michelle is originally from Maryland and is now calling Cape Coral home.
